Flagged by Mistake? How to Appeal an AACGUARD Verdict
When to appeal, what to write, which screenshots help, and what happens after you send an appeal.

False positives are rare, but they happen to every anti-cheat. AACGUARD lets every player appeal their own scan, and every appeal is read by a person. This guide explains how to send an appeal that can be decided quickly.
Before you appeal
- Read the findings on your scan page. Each one says what was found and where. Sometimes the answer is obvious: an old cheat folder you forgot about still counts, and a program you never ran might belong to someone else who uses the PC.
- Report the single wrong finding from the app. If one program you know is legitimate was flagged, press Report false positive next to it in the scan report. Confirmed false positives are whitelisted for everyone.
- Scan again if something changed. If you removed old files, a new scan shows the current state of your PC. Old execution records may still appear, with less weight because of their age.
How to send the appeal
- Open your scan page (the link from the app or from the server admin).
- Press Appeal this verdict.
- Sign in with the same Steam account the scan belongs to. Only the scanned player can appeal a scan.
- Choose the reason that fits best: a false positive, a legitimate program that was flagged, a shared or internet café PC, old traces from long ago, or something else.
- Explain what happened in your own words and add up to four screenshots.
You can send up to three appeals a day. After sending, you can follow the status on the appeal page.
What makes an appeal convincing
- Be specific. "The flagged file C:\Tools\aimtrainer.exe is Aim Lab's trainer, here is the download page" is far better than "I don't cheat".
- Show, don't just tell. Screenshots of the program's official website, its properties window (publisher, version) or where you installed it from help most.
- Be honest about old traces. If you used a cheat years ago and stopped, say so. Old traces weigh less, and honesty is taken into account.
- Shared PC? Say who else uses it. Scans describe the PC, not a person, and admins can take that into account.
What happens next
Your appeal can be accepted, rejected, or marked more information needed, in which case you can answer on the appeal page. When an appeal is accepted, the scan can be cleared: its verdict becomes CLEAN and the findings are removed from the public page.
Server bans are decided by each server's own admins. An accepted AACGUARD appeal is strong evidence you can show them, but the decision on their server stays theirs.
